Patch work blanket

A few months ago a friend asked me to make a blanket for her twins, she picked a patchwork blanket made with Aran yarn,  after a lot of research I found the perfect yard, #James C Brett I chose white and yellow and #Stylecraft I chose mint.

The  blanket had different motifs in each square and was backed in white,yellow and mint 

with a white edging.  The twins loved their blanket and  always sleep well under their snuggly blanket.

Monday morning surprise

Today whilst working from home, I received and lovely surprise in the post, from my daughter's lovely mother in law, a large package of knitting patterns.

Now anyone who knows me knows I like nothing better than rummaging around local charity shops in the hope of finding knitting patterns, I particularly like the vintage patterns.

 I'm  really looking forward to making these very soon

Great Garnetts farmers market

I always look forward to doing these markets, they are the 2nd Saturday each month except January, August and December.  Julie the owner rally does a good job with the advertising and lots of people attend there are two barns each side of the yard, one is for the crafts and the other is for food and drink.

This is my stall.  

The Christmas one which is in November is always busy with the extra added bonus of live music and carols.

It's beginning to look like Christmas jumpers

It's that time of year again and I'm thinking about making Christmas jumpers for the 2 Christmas fairs I have lined up.  The first one is Great Garnetts famers market Barnston near Great Dunmow on the 9th November 9.30am to 12.30pm and the second is at The Old Chapel in Upminster  23rd November 10am to 4pm.  All these super cute jumpers ranging from 14" to 24" chests will be available at these craft fairs and many more items will also be available.

Bibs and bandanas

I have a rather large box, full of fat quarters,  and whilst thinking about what I could make with them, I decided to have a go at making a few bibs and bandanas.
These are the fat quarters i decided to use.

First of all I cut out some bandanas and make a rookie mistake and cut them out upside down😧

So I started again this time taking time to get it right 💪

And I think they can out rather well 

New patterns

Every Saturday whilst out shopping I always make a point to visit the charity shops looking for bargains, I always try to buy my patterns from the shops as they are so expenses to buy new so I normally pay between 40p and 60p per pattern and I get great enjoyment from knitting these patterns for family and friends.

This is one of the latest patterns and I know just the little person to make it for 

Christmas craft fair

This is our stall at our favourite craft fair at The Old Chapel in Upminster.

This year I added 2 strings of fairy lights to brighten up the table and it really made it stand out,  there were lots of familiar faces there, and some new one to.   As usual we were raising funds for the local neonatal special care unit, for which they are always grateful.




This yr I'm determined to do more craft fairs so I've booked 8 so far, we are doing a new one at Great Garnetts farmers market which has been recommended by 2 friends, its the 2nd Saturday of each month except August and December so I'm hoping to quite a few of them.
