Christmas jumpers

 

This time of year I always start making my Christmas jumpers, these range from 14" to 24" something for everyone.

These are all made from double knit super soft yarn so they are nice and warm.

I like making these as they are so cute.

I have also made a few Snowman mitts and I will be making a few hats

Edwards Christmas jumpers

 Its being to look a lot like Christmas

The weathers getting colder the heating's on and so I've started to make Grandson Edward his Christmas jumper.

The first one is made from double knit in #King Cole pricewise cranberry red with a penguin on the front, all the yarn is from #Deramore 

This being double knit its lovely and warm to wear when he visits Santa and goes to his playschool christmas party

Helping the Mundesley NICU charity knit

 

Charity knitted octopus

Whilst on holiday in May, we decided to have a second viewing of our new home that we should be        moving to soon, which is in the lovely seaside village of Mundesley .                                                            

As we got there a little bit to early we decided to have a wonder around the shops, so we parked up in the public carpark by The beach hut café, and walked through Gold Park towards the shops.

One of the shops there is Norfolk Needlecraft which I'm sure I will be visiting offend.!  

This shop is fantastic, not only does it stock yarn but out the back it has all manner of sewing kits, buttons, beads and so much more.

In the window my daughter pointed out the knitted octopus's and suggested I go in and collect the free pattern to make a few for the shops NICU charity, as I have a large collection of yarn bits and bobs, and as we're moving here soon we thought it would be a good way of getting involved in village life.

So far I've made 6 in assorted colours and multi coloured tentacles here are the first 5 one to finish.

If I get time I'll try to make a few more.

Knitted gifts for Australia

 

Gifts of Amelie

At the end of last summer my youngest niece had a baby girl out in Sydney Australia, but because of the lockdown  so I've been busy knitting a few little cardigans to post to her.  I made them all the same size 18" chest so they should fit her for quite a while.

Just need to add the buttons to the blue shrug and I will be able to post these off to her as a surprise.

Babys first christmas

 

With news of the new arrival due the first week in December I decided to make 2 christmas jumpers

Both of these jumpers are made in double knit from #JamesCBrett, sourced from #Deramore

This was the first one a lovely deep blue to show off the snowman

and this one in seasonal red and white.

I cant wait to see the new baby in these adorable little jumpers.

Special request babies blanket

 A few weeks ago I had a special request for a blanket with a special motif on it.

As I's never seen the motif I had to design it myself!

The blanket is made from #Patons double knit in Green, with Gold and black motifs, it is a large pram or cot blanket size and when it was finished off it went to its new home.

Little Grey Hoodie

Earlier this year we had a surprise announcement that we were going to be grandparents, so I started looking at the knitting patterns I have and decided to make this lovely hoodie.

Its made in double knit using pale grey from #JamesCBrett, yarn from #Deramore and white buttons.

Even though its made from double knit the Pattern is so thick it looks like Aran.

I cant wait to see this on the new baby.

Yellow textured blanket

A few weeks ago a friend asked if I could make her a cot blanket, after a look through my pattern folders I decided to make this one, it's made from #JamesCBrett super soft baby double knit in pale yellow. I'd just started to knit this blanket when we had a week of over 95 degrees so it was just to hot to sit and knit this blanket so I only managed a few rows each night, but finish it I did and what a beautiful blanket it turned out to be and I'm sure my friends new grandchild will have many years of cozy nights under this special gift.

Little green diamond

This weeks make is a little 16" chest round neck cardigan with a diamond patterned border and 5 lovely big buttons.

This cardigan is made from #Hayfield baby bonus extra value double knit in pale green,  it's machine washable and can be cool tumble dried.

The needles used for this cardigan were 3mm and 3 3/4 mm which make the cardigan lovely and thick and supper warm to keep baby snug.

Little pink cardigan

This week I knitted a pale pink cardigan using a pattern I found in the local charity shop a few months ago.

I used #Jame C Brett super soft baby double knit 100% acrylic which machine washable but not tumble dryable.

This little cardigan fits a new born 14" chest and has a round snug fit neck to keep baby warm.

It has a pretty lace panel body and a peep hole top it would be lovely over a little dress or babygro

Surprise request

last week I had a surprise request from a family member, to make 2 sets of snowman mitts and matching hats, these were made from super soft #stylecraft double knit and oddments of orange for the noses and black for the eyes.

I can't wait to see the new babies wearing these.

Trouser suit

These little trousers remind me of the old fashioned pram suits your used to get many years ago before snowsuits were invented, and with the addition of a smart matching little jumper really makes a cute little set, and I have enough yarn to make a little hat to match at some point before the weather gets to cold.  

This set will for 16" chest which is an average 3 month baby.

To make these I used #Patons Fab DK, in white with random blue, grey and brown splashes of colour,  this yard is machine washable and tumble dryable always good.

I really love knitting with #Patons Fab DK it's super soft machine washable and tumble dryable on low which is always good.

This lovely little cardigan has 4 buttons and a diamond pattern panel around the bottom.

This little cardigan will keep any little baby lovely and warm.

Tiny jumper

This weeks make is a brown and cream striped jumper made from #JamesCBrett top value double knit which is machine washable.

This yarn is super soft and and will be baby lovely and warm, the additional of the 3 buttons makes it easier to get on and off,

Cuddly cardigan

Lemon yellow cardigan 

This super little cardigan is another pattern that I've been knitting for over 35 yrs, its super cuddly and  warm.  

It's knitted using #Hayfields baby bonus double knit and it's machine washable and tumble dryable which is a bonus.  

It's has 4 lovely buttons and will look lovely over a little outfit or even just over a babygro to keep babe warm.
